Assessment and Qualifications:
arcenciel has a team of dedicated qualified social workers assessing the needs of families requesting financial support for their children’s education. Requests for support have in the past been received mainly through word of mouth, as well as through arcenciel’s outreach programs. Schools also sometimes reach out directly for assistance in a particular case. With an aim to aid the most underprivileged families first, arcenciel's team starts by reviewing each application individually. How much support is given is decided on a case-by-case basis. The case is reviewed by the whole team, and on-site visits are conducted to determine a family’s living conditions and paint a holistic picture of their overall needs. Support is then allocated in terms of need. No request for help is denied under the “no child left behind” policy, so even if the team cannot fulfill a request this year, they try to assure people that they will strive to fulfill it the next. The team continues to maintain a strong relationship with all the families it supports. |
Compliance: arcenciel’s tuition payments are made directly to the school on behalf of the student it sponsors, in order to promote transparency. Doing so ensures that the money goes to the right cause and benefits the right person. Note that sponsorship payments do not typically cover the full cost of tuition but rather contribute towards it. Parents are still expected to contribute to their child’s tuition fees except in exceptional cases. |
